Have you seen the state of other niche monster taming JRPGs? None of them ever get localized without fans making an uproar for that. Nu-Pokemon sucks donkey balls but i'd never want it to suffer the same fat as Digimon and Moster Rancher.

Are you stupid? Not a single mainline game outside of the 3rd version has sold less than 10mil copies, do you think a "nice" franchise can get those kind of numbers? Pokemon has always been a normie franchise that makes lots of money, the whole "biggest franchise in the world" thing didn't start the moment someone decided to look at the wikipedia article, it has been fact for a long long time.
