How likely is it that Gamefreak will completely leave out the upgrades to the core gameplay in PLA and just make another SwSh tier game in gen 9?

SWSH's wild area was basically a beta for Legends and even its DLC was a huge improvement, so I'm pretty confident it will be a mix between the two.

Most Likely well be getting both traditional SwSh style games, and Legends styles games.

Game Development takes time so just because they don't announce Legends2 in Febuary dosen't mean they'll never make another legends style game.

I think they would/could keep some of the battle system (minus Agile/Strong obviously) and nerfs/buffs to the moves, tho.
The other 30% being them literally doing a new generation as a Legends-type game, of course. Best outcome.

PLA will be a smash hit
Gen 9 won’t incorporate anything
But PLx will incorporate gen 9
There will be two versions of the next PL game, version exclusives, trade evos will be back, there will be 1000 bidoof trainers blocking your path, and the graphics won’t be updated

What they should do is take this premise and build on it for new games, fix some of the issues with the combat system and return things like hold items and abillities but totally revamped for the new system. That's way too much work for GF, this is a one and done.
