However, the pronunciation was officially changed from then on out to |Ar-KEE-us| in the Pokémon movie Arceus and the Jewel of Life and that change was made because Ar-SEE-us has the British slang word "arse" in it which, as we all might know, means ass and is pretty much how everyone in the UK says ass.
