I'm cool with shared EXP in other RPG's because they're balanced around it. Pokemon isn't, and it leads to your team of overleveled bros shitting on everything in their path because they're 10 levels above everything else.

It is, but it's just barely good enough to where you wont be overleveled while also letting weaker Pokemon catch up so you won't have to grind.
That being said, you are rewarded with the undeniably broken Exp. Candies from SwSh for capturing/defeating Alpha Pokemon, which is expected of you.
