No one knows the specifics of how or why they got stranded. Not even the MC (you) knows your own predicament. Unless there's DLC that comes out that focuses on returning after the Space-Time Rift (which is gone now) no one will ever know.

For all we know his world in his universe was destroyed or in the process of being destroyed when he got plucked off it. It'd explain why his clothes are all fucked up. The damage to them isn't consistent with normal wear and tear. After all this time you'd think he'd make an attempt to repair them unless something deep down tell him not to as a reminder of an event. Then the amnesia was either self induced by the trauma or a mercy granted by Arceus.

I was thinking about this yesterday when i was on my way to quell H.Electrode and i think,we will get an explanation in the next games,like it did happened for,as an example,Looker in oras. We got it in S/M many years after.
Plus,this would make sense since, it's heavily implied PLA it's a stepping stone just like LetsGo games.

But my real question is...why in the fuck,would arkyus sending you back in time asking you to catch all the pokemons? IMO,some real bad shit happend in the future related to the Pokedex somehow or,someone close to Vole time traveled to the future and fucked things up in some way

To me,it will all comes together as i said,in the next games.

The rifts are just cracks in space and people end up getting swalled by it and get transported randomly. Not that complicated. But in PLA it was volo with the aid of Girantina who caused this to happen.

This is neither confirmed or deconfirmed. It seems to be a mystery unless there was something I missed. It's probably still in tact, though.

Unlikely. It seems he's been in the Pearl clan for quite a long time and he looks visibly aged (eye bags, facial hair, clothes in tatters possibly due to a mixture of regular wear and tear over time and living in harsh conditions). I imagine there may have been a time where Ingo wasn't trusted by people the same way the player was suspicious to Jubilife's residents, but he seemed to have earned it. It usually takes time for something like that to happen. My conclusion is that he's probably been in Hisui for a while, maybe years.

I have my doubts about this, since it seems the player character only has amnesia if you choose certain answers. Depends entirely on the (You) knowing things. Ingo has absolutely no memory whatsoever, which makes me think it may be more likely that he came through some other means. Celebi prank gone wrong or an Ultra Wormhole? I personally lean towards the latter.

I heard an NPC asks/jokes about when you'll go back after Arceus is captured. After all, why wouldn't Arceus send you back if you've served your purpose that he assigned to you. It just isn't in the game (yet?) since that means you can't explore Hisui anymore and GF like more open-ended conclusions to their games. Possible future DLC doesn't exactly guarantee answers, but it would be nice to know what happened to Emmet. Worried about that guy. Even then, would Ingo want to return if he doesn't know what to return to? If he goes back, it doesn't mean his memories will return. He has a life in Hisui now, maybe he's needed more here than in Unova, so he might stay. Who knows?

U.W. do cause amnesia. Looker didn't remember shit in oras,same as Anabelle when she fell through it.

(There's also a nice but unconfirmed reference to this whole story in gen 1 where in the s.s. anne you encounter the ONLY character trough the whole series that declare openly to be a member of the International police,wich supposedly is Looker)

Schizo theory: There are two Looker's within the Mega Universe. One native, one that may be an Ultra Wormhole Faller or sufferer of Spacetime distortion otherwise. Jokes aside, what happened to this guy in ORAS? Anabel and Ingo make it clear that they are foreigners to their worlds, having lost nearly every facet of themselves and needing to adjust to their new lives and settings. Rei/Akari, meanwhile, were selectively chosen by Arceus for their mission in Hisui. Game Freak isn't exactly known for consistency, but ORAS Looker is still one strange case.

I've never been too sure how that worked. Like, when you go through a wormhole, it says you are a certain distance from where you started which sort of implies is just a super far off planet, but year, everything else implies its another universe. That said, are all the UB planets alt versions of earth? If not then could they still constitute as aliens if they are on nonearth planets in another universe?

I think the distance is how far you traveled in the void between dimensions or something. Because if you genuinely were traveling through outer space, then why do you need to enter portals to go down to the planet's surface? But as far as the UB worlds are concerned, the only one outright confirmed to be an alternate version of Earth was Guzzlord's. And we know that the Rainbow Rocket members all came through Ultra Space from other dimensions where they won.

That's only the case if you choose certain dialogue options. The game lets you choose whether you're amnesiac or not.

He's in Hisui because he has to contribute to the construction of railways. (Railways in real world Hokkaido first opened in 1880, from the architecture of the Galactic whatever HQs and the distribution of people we can assume PLA is set between 1870 to 1880).
(Yes I do know that this is headcanon as the real world was retconned out of existence after gen 6 but I have a minor in Japanese history that's completely useless.
