There are several methods depending on personal preference.
The one I use, because it’s the fastest for me, checks only the first 4 of an outbreak and also it results in being able to farm the same outbreak for multiple shinies
>get outbreak desired (no shortcut you have to get lucky)>go to outbreak zone, save at camp>check outbreak for shiny if none then:>go back to jubilife>if outbreak has disappeared/changed=Close game and reload; go back to jubilife again from the camp>if outbreak still there=go back out the same place>(I save here at the camp every time for superstitious reasons)>check outbreak for shiny>repeat until you die IRL once you catch a shiny you can keep farming the outbreak. save your shiny, back to jubilife, back to the outbreak zone, save, then continue the cycle again as usual.
