I can't for the life of me find Munchlax, been roaming Deertrack heights like the checklist excel said for a half hour but nothing.

When are spawns set? I'm trying to reset for an alpha Growlithe, can I save at camp and run to the Growlithe spawn area and reset, or do I have to reset all the way in town?

Since you can max each stat with grit, does it make sense to just have every/most pokemon as a mixed attacker? Example, my oshawott starter has a modest nature (+special attack -attack) and I was going to only focus on special moves but now that I have it fully evolved most of the moves are physical.

How exactly does the battle system work?
My Staraptor OHKO'd a pokemon and the guy sent out another one and I know my Staraptor was faster because it was level 55 vs his level 40 something Tangla yet without using Agile style the Tangla still got to use Stun Spore and some other attack.

Oh and another thing, what's with all these 3 on 1, 2 on 1 fights? why can't I use more than 1 pokemon? it really feels like I'm eating 4 sometimes 3 attacks for every 1 I manage to get off, feels unfair as fuck

I've never been in a situation, outside of flying Pokemon, where throwing an Ultra Ball wasn't the answer. They're good enough that any benefit Heavy Balls would give is negligible, while being far more convenient to use. It's genuinely not even worth crafting Heavy Balls.

No. Pokemon eating their preferred cake variety will have a high catch rate, and a back strike will succeed 95% of the time. The only berries worth taking up bag space are Oran for luring and crafting, and either Leppa or Hopo for PP management.

No. After the battle (you'll know which one) the game drops off and becomes not worth completing.

I’m of the opinion that mixed sets are better due to how stats work. You barely gain increases so even level 2 pokemon feel like they can do some damage to my lv 20 one. Its also good so you can have variety vs certain types of pokemon that have dramatically high defense or sp def but forgoe the other

I got through a surprising number of difficult fights opening with Jolteon Agile Baby-Doll Eyes, followed by Calm Mind. He was fast enough that sometimes I'd even get three turns and be able to finish up with a Thunderbolt before the enemy could even move.
I never really used Strong Style unless it was a research goal or I knew my Pokemon wasn't going to last another turn anyway.

I'm pretty sure buffs and debuffs only have one stage, since any counter buff or debuff will return stats to normal.
I just don't think the AI knows it, because I've seen a lot of enemy Pokemon buff twice. But I've also had them continually use Normal attacks on Ghosts that weren't previously Ghost type like Zoroark and Typhlosion.

I feel like a boosted STAB or SE move in strong style is almost always guaranteed to OHKO your opponent. Unless you're fighting a strong alpha, but in that case you will probably only last a single turn before you get rekt. In that case, get as much damage in asap.

You can respawn Munchlax by ko-ing or capturing the Kricketot in the area, then going to camp and sleeping

Sleeping until morning usually works best as Zubat also spawns at night, lowering Munchlax's appearance rate. It will appear in all weather, but it's like an 8% chance

I've been playing for 3 days and just beat Arcanine I was wondering how's the battle endgame. In regular games, you can still redo harder battles and challenge the E4 countless times, but in this game you don't face any trainers besides 2 or 3 piss easy retards with 1-2 pathetic pokes.
Is the endgame just Alphas and completing the pokedex?

This is where resource grinding is key. Those shiny tumblestone rocks have a chance of carrying them. From doing that for a bit, I've gotten quite a few thunder stones and and fire stones this way.

Is there anyway to actually fly upwards with Braviary? Or is it just only good if you fly from high? If so it's really fucking stupid and pointless.

At what level would you normally be Vs Kleavor? I'm very conscious of overleveling to the point I'm not using my starter as I just fill out some minor Dex entries even at this early stage.

It's a little bit more rare but I haven't found it particularly hard to get compared to other people. There isn't much available in the Obsidian Fieldlands but it's more abundant with each additional region and a shit ton in the Alabaster Icelands.

I was around 20 or 21 but just to be honest levels don't mean a lot with this game. A lot of enemies hit hard and you're going to care more about farming grit items to up your stats, my Typhlosion is level 61 and it still regularly gets one or two shotted. But especially with the nobles levels don't matter, you don't need to worry about overleveling because there will still be a challenge. It's more about your skill level to dodge and wear the enemy out for you to battle it and hit with balms whenever you can. Every noble aside from Kleavor is ridiculous although I found Electrode to actually be more predictable than Lilligant and Arcanine. Kleavor is easy because you have a tree in the way.

Not that anyone has requested this but I just beat Avalugg and figured I would lay out a guide for it. I found the second and third bosses to both be extremely cheesy with how the AI can just screw over your entire attempt and Avalugg is similar but I actually found this one to be the most fun to figure out a way to beat it.

It pretty does four types of attacks in the same order and you want to do it in four phases.
Phase A and B- Both will be identical. Take it easy in this stage because you actually don't want to deal too much damage to it because you don't want it at below half for a bit. First it send zigzag iceballs that are easy to dodge, just jump through them diagonally. Then when it's done with that it sends a row of glaciers a few times that all warn you when they're approaching so they're easy. Then, come the fucking missiles. Head to the back left or right corner and dodge horizontally. There are four in an attack and you can dodge in the same direction without turning around until the last one. Lastly it will send a beam to sweep the arena and you can just dodge through that easy. Just don't get hit and when you battle it for it's first two stages do not bring the bar to below half from your balms. Also, make sure you stand back from both of them, Avalugg is far away and you need to get close to get a Pokemon in battle, so make sure you're out of the way so you don't get hit from the battle but not too far, off the the side is fine.
Phase C- If you did it right you'll have it right above half and it will do the same attacks as before. This time, try to throw as many balms at it in the interim as possible. You can sneak in a few in the first attack, and possibly between the third and fourth. After this third battle try to get it to the last quarter or lower if possible.

Phase D- This is the reason why you shouldn't knock it down below half too early. If you do, it advances to the next attacks. The first one isn't too bad, he activates a single glacier with each zigzag that start to appear a couple seconds before landing, but after that head to the front and toss as many balms as you can. Once Avalugg starts the next attack, head to slightly further than halfway back and he fills up the front with glaciers, it won't head to the back and they shatter after a bit. Then the missiles come. There might be 5 and they are much faster but you can dodge the first but you cannot dodge a subsequent one because they are that fast. I'm pretty sure this is guaranteed to do at least two hits to you and you probably won't be able to survive the second round, so you need to make it so you won't hit the missiles again. You can get a balm in here, then Avalugg sets up a few glaciers in the middle spaced out in a row and then activates his beam, dodge through a gap.
Battle it one last time, and toss as many balms as possible. You may roll into a fifth round like I did and that's ok, just repeat the process and sneak as many balms in before the missiles fire. Avalugg should be done by then.

Every tick adds one research level. Two for ones with the red arrows.
Once you get to 10, the dex entry is done and shinies for that mon become easier to find.
If you do all tasks for that Pokemon fully, shinies become even easier.

if you pick diamond you catch dialga and the final boss is the palkia form
if you pick pearl you catch palkia and the final boss is the dialga form
theres not much actual story difference and you can get both pokemon anyway, so just pick whatever

I've been trying some shiny farming and I feel saving at the town with your desired outbreak on the map is faster than saving at camp. because when you reboot emulator you get fresh rolls when you do the next world area load. outbreaks seems to stay between reboots so it's my go to way

Just got my first space time distortion and it's in the first zone. But there doesn't seem to be anything different inside it, just the usual level 2-3 Drifloons and Wurmples. What am I supposed to be looking for? It's just a small dome and Akari said these zones have treasure and strong Pokémon in them but I'm not seeing any of that.

Distortion spawns are such bullshit. I've been running around, catching, collecting wisps and doing dex research for over an hour and this shit won't spawn. Does resting reset the timer or what?

Currently, there is no proof that an action such as catch pokemon, resting, etc. will help speed up the timer. However, there is a random timer and sometimes you're really just unlucky to receive a long one. Which is what some people took advantage of and managed to make a cheat that can spawn distortions
