Do you think Game Freak will actually be able to pull off a fully-scaled and explorable open-world Unova for the next legends game? I mean even Atlus had a hard time making a fully explorable shibuya.

Yes and it's going to be the best game since og BW. Imagine a fully fleshed out Unova in proper 3D instead of that shitty BDSP graphics with the Legends gameplay mechanics when it comes to battling and catching, while still having all the towns, trainers, gyms etc. Once again, thanks for beta testing Sinnohcucks.

They made two Let's Go versions. If PLA was Legends: Dialga and Legends: Palkia your comparison would make sense, but it's not.

No open world these open sections work well for Pokémon and they can cut them off with towns or even have towns in the wild areas. Maybe even have a merchant or NPCs to battle or interact with. I love how they have you find other peoples satchels when they get Knocked out but I would love an area where you could 1v1 people in real time

There is absolutely no (null, zero, 0, nada) way that GameFreak can make an satisfactory urban open world. No one has ever done it, and they are not going to be the first ones, nor be among the first 20 ones.

No. Best case scenario is they make it a post apocalyptic landscape like SMTV so they don't actually have to make many interior areas and most of the game can be covered in sand or maybe snow.

Absolutely not, the point of setting games in the past is that you can handwave the development of complex cities, in fact even more than one town period.

Why do you think Legends: Arceus was Legends: Arceus and not Deoxys or Celebi or Mew? Because it's 2022 and people who played Gen 4 when they were kids are in their 20s now and primed for nostalgia bait. And in a couple of years Gen 5 kids will be the primary nostalgia bait demographic.

Yeah, Pokemon is the highest grossing media franchise ever but the mainline games are only a part of that and Game Freak the company doesn't profit much from all the other shit, that's all TPCI and Nintendo.
