Just thought I'd let my fellow foxfuckers know that not only is there a guaranteed alpha Zoroark, you can reset for it to be female (but the spawn is decided when you load the wasteland map, so save and reset in town instead)

You're forced to encounter it as part of the story and I don't think it respawns. After you unlock the cave it's in, go back to town and save, then keep trying till you get a female. I have no idea if encountering it and running allows you to reset it, or if you can even run

Pass time by resting until it changes. Pretty easy to tell, the sounds of the wind and rain will be gone. Granted, this is all just experimenting on my end with a cheat that lets you spawn and despawn them whenever you want, but I don't think it's a coincidence that it doesn't work in those weather effects. I personally can't recall ever getting one while they were active.

Anybody know why there would be white flashing light on the map when selecting an area to go to?
I have a breakout in Fieldlands and Mirelands, and a quest in Icelands. But there is also a white blinking light in Icelands, offset from the quest icon.

No stat difference. They are big, start with higher EVs (saving you some grit dust), and have one tutored move (saving you a little cash if it's a move you want).

They're Big the EVs get boosted a litte more then normal Wild pokemons but since you get showered in grit dust by mid game it doesnt matter

Not very, you can make it a LOT easier on yourself by completing certain entries before catching the Pokemon, specifically the baby Pokemon. The hardest parts are the handful of rare spawns that you can't just spam moves with to complete the entry.

Find a couple of Ursaluna digging spots, mark them on your map, and farm them. They respawn relatively quickly, are always in the same spots, and when you get iron you get ten at a time. Otherwise you just find it on the ground or randomly in stone deposits.

Like, which zone? All of them, pretty sure there's no correlation between the zones and the items you find. I've gotten Peat Blocks in the Icelands. Just find a couple in any zone you like and cycle through them a few times. It's RNG but if it works it'll be way quicker.

You can get about 10k exp per battle fighting Ingo at the training grounds. Other trainers there are good too. Don't waste your time grinding on wild Pokemon.

you have to complete a certain number of tasks, usually ranging from like 7-9.

Each of the numbers within a task, like catching, counts as one task. so 1 catch, 3 catch, defeat 1, defeat 3, all count as tasks to hit research level 10. Once you hit that, you unlock the entry. There's really no reason to perfect the research page unless you're captain autismo for shinies. You get the charm for just completing the dex, you don't even have to perfect them for it.

Likewise, I ended up waiting so long for the last distortion spawn I needed that I was 400 points away from rank 10 before I even got my shiny charm. I think it's well and truly random. I just use a cheat to spawn them manually, fuck that RNG bullshit.

I took down Volo mostly with Alphas I just caught in the area.
The Goodra you can get on top of the Quarry is easily the best weapon against him, and doesn't even have to be leveled up. Open the fight with Shelter, keep it alive with Revives, and ride it out.

It could be that those icons aren't being referenced properly, so it loads the egg as a failsafe. As for why the egg icon is even there at all, it's probably just in the data for future compatibility like the abilities.

Both of those are completable ASAP, though I think the will-o-wisp one needs to be at night. There are some you can't complete immediately like the wisps for Spiritomb which will take you the whole game or the one for Cherrim which will take a very long time unless you dig in and try to get it ASAP.

Go to jubilife and back to the map to reset the map seed (spawns)
Waiting will eventually despawn and respawn mons (moving forward in the queue of pokemon in that map seed) but it takes longer than just resetting whole map

The core gameplay loop is more engaging simply by requiring your near-constant attention. Whether it appeals to you personally is irrelevant.
Bosses are "more interesting" in that they're not just trainer battles but harder. But interesting doesn't mean good, and they're certainly not that.
Difficulty is hard to define, but Pokemon games have never been particularly challenging apart from maybe the Champion battles. Similarly, this game has one (1) battle I would consider challenging.

Time distortions are random and not farmable. It's faster to just do Blissey and sell her drops.

Do wild pokemon have better stats during combat? I've done several calculations done and looks like the only way that a lvl 20 can widstand a neutral 100bp move from a lvl 40 is with invisible buffs. Same thing the other way around.

Kind of? You don’t HAVE to go check in with the Captain to upgrade your star rank if you don’t want to. You’re gonna be stuck with worse items, get less money, and have a harder time catching alphas though.

The one you pick guides you for the latter missions, then the first ‘almighty Sinnoh’ you see is their team’s one (i.e. Dialga for Adaman). But you catch the other one after that anyway so it doesn’t really matter much

The consensus seems to be that it's totally random. People used to think they were more common if you kept busy doing research tasks, catching and battling, etc. but from my own experience I seriously don't see how that could be true.
