>>49520847The way static Alphas are laid out felt like a sort of mini story progression to me, so I did that first for fun. Get the Lv30s, then Lv40s, then figure out tricky ways of getting to and capturing the Lv55-62s.
Because it felt like it’s own progression due to the varied levels, progressing the story to get mounts felt kind of like cheating.
Like if I were to say “why bother fighting these bosses normally when you could just bethesda climb up to Blissey and then steamroll the next 4 zones?” It wouldn’t feel like you’re playing it right.
Also, knowing I’m one of a tiny amount of people to figure out how to get Blissey and Gyarados without a mount gives me a bit of mildly autistic pride.
