Because gen 9 is cancelled for another year or two according to the leaker, do you think the games will be great? Since they got more development time.

Probably, but not necessarily. DP had a delayed development time but still ended up the worst games of the first five Gens.

Khu revealed DLC a couple weeks ago. /vp/ has taken this to mean "a rehash-tier content addition to Legends, to be bundled and re-sold at christmas". Cyndaquil is "Hinoarashi"=Fire Porcupine(Rodent) and is almost certainly based on the Hinezumi or Hinonezumi(itself based on the chinese Huǒ shǔ).

Nope, all that means is staff will be stretched thin between multiple projects to compensate for the annual workflow being disrupted, presumably by COVID, and we'll probably get more BDSP-tier garbage along the way to further fill in the annual criteria.

You could argue they're only bad because of performance issues and GF not understanding how to program for the DS, something they eventually learned how to do, proof being BW. Platinum was a model of what DP should've been, GF had the time and were able to make it correctly. What makes gen 4 the worst amongst the first five?

I think if they don't release anything for one of those years, they'll have more time to polish the game and make the story a little better. Trying too hard to maintain yearly releases has been having a strain on the franchise, and even though I liked SwSh I can tell they cut things out that should have been there both traditionally and story-wise (like fucking DUNGEONS).

Hopefully they actually put the extra time into making a better game and not into making an extra game.

The fact they released all projects on-time since the great sickening began, while other "better" studios delayed and cancelled theirs because they couldn't handle working AND worrying about the cof disproves that anon.
Game Freak had been offering WFH as a perk to staff long before they needed everyone to work from home, meaning they were more adept at setting their network up than others.

Newsfash kid, Pltinum was a year-long rehash project. They didn't spend two years on it, they never spend two years on any rehash, they all get started when they finish one initially (Blue born out of Red, then Yellow born out of Blue, carrying the improvements forward)

Platinum was ostensibly just GF further working out all the performance issues of diamond and pearl, it was a culmination of the development. They took what they had done up to the release of DP, made it run better on the DS and then added in some extra pokemon.

All they have to do is build off arceus, get rid of the crafting, keep catching exactly the same
And have a hub city where trainers can walk around online and interact with each others party up for exploring, battle, trade, show off their mons

I actually like this new battle system, they can add back the items and abilities if they want but I don't even miss them
More importantly keep IV shit out and EVs based on dust is the best thing that they ever did
