I'm also bored and tired of the stale turn based system in mainline games like SWSH but PLA isn't the answer. It needs to be revised upon and needs abilities and held items back. The main thing I like about PLA battling is how it speeds the process up by excluding unnecessary cut scenes and text boxes. Overall the only battle in the game I had fun with was against Volo and all the NPC 3 on 1 battles. If they're just going to continue having NPCs with 1 or 2 pokemon then why bother.
