played it too much to admit it's good. the campaign is way too easy. The characters are awful. The kanto pandering makes it age poorly. It runs poorly. Etc.

It's... surprisingly solid and fun to play if player has a habit to ignore all the shit that game try to throw at them. But a lot of people are too much of a sheeps to just say "no" and decide what they want.

XY has an amazing regional Dex, it absolutely mogs BW. Having less new mins also allows it to have less garbage added (like gen v). The biggest problem are mega gimmick, that the story is too by-the-numbers, and that no trainers have more than 4 Pokemon (including the evil boss who you fight 3 times in 10 minutes). It's probably mostly due to GF being incompetent and failing to figure out the 3DS before the game released. The game actually looks pretty good on emulator too with a higher resolution (native is awful though). It even made the exp share optional.

well, it's not gonna become good any time soon just because it's miles above swsh and dp. it's got some pretty solid designs though; pangoro, talonflame, dragalge, aromatisse, barbaricle, noivern treevant, yvevtal, and especially picrel are pretty kino. also fairy was neat and if they limited megas to weaker mons that'd have been nice.

X and Y was never bad. It just lacks identity. Kalos reuses too many Kanto places and mons and the few independent choices feel sloppily inserted just to meet quotas (see obligatory random desert and random snowy city or the forced anthro RPG class gimmick for the starters).

The dex sucks. Its big and artificial and it undermines itself. The route between Paris and the 1st gym has more pokemon than any other route in the game. Do you even remember all of the gen 6 pokemon?

I think the dex is good but I do notice I tend to use more Pokemon in the regional dex than coastal or mountain.

Choice is good. Bidoof, Dunsparce, Zigzagoon and all the other vastly superior normal types keep me away from even considering Bunnelby as a HM slave though.

I have an easier time remembering them than most Pokemon. There weren't too many to find, and most of them usually had some unique trait like Vivillon's pattern gimmick, the Furfrou hair salon, or new Abilities like Stance Change, Gooey or Gale Wings which were limited to one species.
