Some of the babies were useful - by making them GameFreak were able to allow players to get cool pokemon line earlier in the game, on routes near first two gyms. I'm talking about Magby, Elekid, Happiny, Munchlax and Mantyke. You can't place Magmar, Electabuzz, Chansey, Snorlax and Mantine on eearly routes, they way to strong for that.
Maybe Smoochum and Mime Jr could be added to this list as well. I don't think Jynx and Mr Mime are cool, but whatever
Tyrogue is also a great idea, I love the fact Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee actually were made related to each other. If GameFreak will make more babies in the future I wish all of them will be like that. Shared baby for Tauros and Miltank (and Bouffalant), shared baby for Sawk and Throh etc.
Pichu, Cleffa, Igglybuff, Azurill, Wynaut, Budew, Chingling and Bonsly are useless garbage. Pikachu, Clefairy, Jigglypuff, Marill, Wobbuffet, Roselia, Chimecho and Sudowoodo are already weak and eligible for early routes of the game. The don't need a weaker form. And all of them except Pichu aren't even cuter than their evolved forms. What was the point?
