The small volcanic island is implied to ve the future Stark Mountain with Heatran living there. It's also in the correct place relative to modern Sinnoh.

The modern Celestic is a little farther West I think but they are definitely meant to be connected since Cogita says her ancestors were there before others, presumably building everything in the Coronet Highlands.

Jubilife Village is in the location of Floaroma Town in modern Sinnoh. Furthermore, we know that Jubilife City was carved from a hill so Jubilife Village can't actually be Jubilife City. It's likely that the village moved their location a bit south some time later. But at the same time, Floarona Town was stated to be a barren wasteland at one point so it doesn't match up

Going by Hisui and Sinnoh maps I still think the volcanic island is future Victory Road/Pokemon League. Stark Mountain is located too far in north and it's part of not-Russia region.
Heatran likely moved to or living only in Stark Mountain because there's no active volcanoes on mainland Sinnoh in modern time.

I think it depends on how you see the map, i think the implication is that something happens to Lunkers Lair (Arcanines Grave) at least. The main problem i think is that Hissus coastline bends more extremely then Sinnohs.

I really like how they represented most of these locations and I'm forgiving on some of them that aren't done as well but some just straight up trigger my autism.

Eterna Forest is obviously meant to be the forest with Kleavor but it's to the south of where Oreburgh is supposed to be and that itself is cutoff and probably closer to the Mirelands. Floara Gardens is too close to Lake Verity when Jubilife should be smack in the middle of it and the lake.

The Mirelands are generally pretty good but Lake Valor should be on the other side along with the Giratina spring and where the Valor Resort would be.

The Cobalt Coastlands really set off my autism. There's mountains where flatlands were and flatlands at the coastline where it wasn't accessible, and everything around Veilstone Cape, the isles and Firespit Island are the most egregious of the entire game. Veilstone is on the wrong side of the Spring, the cape where the Pokemon league is supposed to be I guess was an island originally and can't feasibly have the full Victory Road there, and the islands near where Shaymin was are completely barebones compared to everything else that's typically way more developed. Munchlax rock just doesn't exist and instead has the rock claw gates which are still cool I guess. But Firespit island, holy shit. How the fuck do you expect me to believe that this island could fit the Battle Frontier, the Battle Resort, the full Stark mountain and all of the routes in between? That area was just an insult.

Celestica Ruins are a little weird because they're obviously Celestic Town and positioned more towards that way, but the greater ruins with the Dialga/Palkia statues are also in that area when they should be in Eterna City. Maybe they moved the statues or recreated them, but even then the writing faded so it must be decently old, more than 150 years for sure.

Alabaster Icelands is generally pretty accurate enough but it infuriates me that the Regis aren't in the game.

The amount of landmass, sure. However, it doesn't actually take that long for lava flows to become fertile if the area is particularly wet/rainy, and it seems to rain a lot in that region.

It's conflicting because firespit could be stark mountain and form that area into battle zone but there are many official maps of sinnoh showing the battle zone simply cut off at stark mountain while others obscure the top part of stark mountain but it still shows the rest of sakhalin island. Unless the usual time space alternate timeline

I think it's probably more realistic that the volcano forms the basis of the region around the league while the "battle zone" is simply inaccessible in PLA. The map in OP is at a 45 degree angle compared to DPPt's, so the volcano isn't North, it's North East.

Granted it's weird that "Sakhalin" isn't visible at all since it's been portrayed as so close before, but I'm just going to pass that off as more as a contrivance of trying to fit the whole map on one screen in DP rather than it being literal, or that Hisui's people haven't ventured that far out so it hasn't been recorded.

These are the ones that are the most difficult to pin point, the middle of sinnoh and snowpoints region got the biggest changes. Sorta doesn't make sense considering Veilstone is elsewhere but it should technically overlap with the Coronet Highlands and Crimson Mirelands maps with where they position everything.

The rest of the island of Hokkaido that Sinnoh is based on but doesn't include. It can be speculated to be the Almia region but if that was the case then it shouldn't be all desert but forested areas as well. The desert part of Almia would be a part of the Japanese mainland.
