3 isn't really much. I found those 5 I mentioned over the course of probably 16 or so. A mass outbreak increases your chances from 1/4000 to something like 1/148. Can be narrowed down further from there w dex completion, shiny charm etc. Don't give up.

There are plenty of ways to influence and manipulate RNG. Pokemon doesn't use pure random numbers, it calls from a table.

Encounter more Pokemon. Shinies are an inevitability in this game. The shiny charm alone gives you just a bit under a 1/800 chance to find something. And like I already said, you're encountering a lot of Pokemon just by the nature of how this game is played.

They're not normally boosted, but filling out the dex gives you better chances at finding a shiny. The amount of Pokemon you encounter is also much higher than a typical game.

It's only easier for some because there's more rolls happening constantly, especially once you meet the criteria necessary for bonus rolls such as Mass Outbreaks or Research Bonuses.
