Yes, that's right. It's a Pokemon. Logically, within the Pokemon world Mr. Mime predates the concept of what a mime actually is.

That's debatable, even if it is cheating by actually summoning invisible walls and other objects it sells it incredibly well. You could also argue that the powers are part of its acting talent. Is an actor who uses their photographic memory to remember their lines talented or abusing their mental abilities?

You don't understand how Pokemon work do you? In universe, Pokemon come first, and whatever they're based off of comes second, for example the Vanillite line has literally always looked like that, and humans just based the design of ice cream around them, same with Mr. Mime and whatever other humanoid Pokemon you can think of.

if they had a temporary dexcut to update all models and animations to a higher standard and then updated games/brought back the national dex when they'd gone through the whole process I'd unironically be fine with it
the problem is you know the real reason was for those sweet sweet home subscriptions and an easy way to get someone to buy their new game ("omg i can use my shiny sunflora for the first time in 7 years!!!"

this, its ridiculous to me that anyone tries to argue against the idea of gf/tcpi abusing people's love for their pokemon collection for profit. we're never gonna get the full national dex in any game ever again because if people have a modern game they can store all their Pokemon in, they're never going to pay for a home subscription. wouldn't be surprised if certain pokemon are deliberately kept out of the games to be used as bait for people to buy a new title, the big one that comes to mind is Greninja.
