Colosseum had a much nicer map, better presentation overall, but damn did Gale of Darkness give us a much better gameplay experience. Colosseum would be undisputably my favorite if it had those qol changes: save from the pause menu, wider pokemon selection (or at least early access to trading), the new shadow moves/mechanics, battle CDs/battle bingo for more stuff to do, and something similar to the purify chamber but not a straight clone of it. It held too many shadow pokemon and discouraged the player from actually using most of them so you end up missing out on the improvements to them especially the variety of shadow moves you see more of later in the game, Colosseum's inability to passively purify was a pain but they went overboard fixing it.
