This. The kid in me wants see Gen 9 starters but I have a feeling it will be just DLC for PLA, and something new for Go/Masters/Unite. Them not releasing Gem 9 this year would be for the best anyways so I can't be upset at all.

I'd hate for DLC to be the only thing we get but I get the feeling you're probably right. Considering how packed Nintendo's 2022 lineup is, it's doubtful Pokemon will get a look-in this year, especially if BOTW2 is coming in November/December.

I think that if we do get a game this year, however, it will be gen 9, not another remake.

Kind of just want small stuff, maybe a new Mythical after so long. I’m satisfied with Legends even if it gets a small update down the line, and I don’t want Gen IX rushed out the gate as badly as SWSH.

Why are people obsessed with the idea of a Let's Go Johto?
It's not happening. Let's Go exists as nostalgia bait to get people who were re-hooked by Go back into real Pokémon games. None of those people have anywhere near as strong nostalgia for Johto as they do Kanto.

Wonder what the montage that gives us the illusion that the franchise has grown in any meaningful way since '98 is going to be like this year and how masturbatory it will be. Last year sure seemed a lot like they were bragging about how big their carbon footprint was with all that merchandise they showed off. I can't imagine how many of those pocket pikachu toys are in landfills right now.
