I keep hearing on this site that Gen 9 will be delayed to 2024. I doubt it will be true, since evidence points toward this year/or at least early 2023. Don’t get me wrong, more development time makes for a better game, but TPC has merchandise on the line.

Which of the few dozen Pokemon not in game would really shake it up at this point? Even without restricted Pokemon, do you really expect things like the Sinnoh starters to compete with the Genies, Tapus, or Ultra Beasts? I suppose if they made a very restricted meta that was just Pokemon from the PLA + BDSP Pokedex it might be interesting for a Series, but as it stands the only Pokemon I could see be used would be Smeargle.

Gen 9 is 2023 or early 2024.

A smart move would be to have it as a launch title for the next generation Switch with enhanced visuals of performance but still be compatible with the original.

It would give the system a huge game on day one and they'd still be able to capitalize on the original Switch

Let's Go (Johto) will be released at the end of Gen IX, amd BW remakes will be in Gen X, BW2 will either get a release the final year of Gen X, or be in Gen XI (assuming Gen XI doesn't get Let's Go Hoenn). Gen XII will have X and Y remakes.

Khu did say DLC was happening. But he knew about Gen IX's plans long before finding out about Legends DLC and was clear it was happening this year (almost as if they didn't talk Legends DLC internally, until sending Legends Gold, while they'd been talking all year about Gen IX, never mind TPC moving forward with final year VGC rules).
Funny how no-one has a quote of him saying he was wrong and it was delayed, just hearsay and speculation (besides, it's not as if he hadn't indicated to other leakers pre-BDSP launch that Gen IX was next year too).

Game Freak work on new Gens and other current Gen games all the time and crucially, start every new Gen before launching the latest-revealed Generation, to allow them to get that Generation ready for launch three years down the line.
This isn't an either/or situation here, they're ploughing on full-steam with the next Gen anyway, as that's what they do and what maximises merch revenue (complete refresh of every toy line every three years means kids/collectors always have FOMO and need to consume).

You're claim is its "obvious" Gen 9 is coming out in 2024.That means its evident and most people would think its coming out in 2024, the ONLY reason you think its coming out in 2024 is because of a leaker. its not, because you're not basing that off anything, or at least you havent said anything yet, all you've said was leaker. If someone thought it was coming out in 2022 that would be because thats the pattern gamefreak does for Main game releases. If someone thought 2023, that would be because the 2022 release was delayed (seems likely due to covid). However, why would I think its likely for it to be delayed by 2 years?
