>>49579672It isn't. Pokémon's biggest problem is with its size and the influence of a large normalfag/non-fan audience that reduces GF's incentive to make games that pleases any one part of their fanbase and leads to a generalized sense of dissatisfaction. However, everyone wants Pokémon to improve. Everyone is fundamentally anticipating the *same game* in the *same lineage*, whether that game is BW, XY, SM, SwSH, etc. Likewise with MLP: FiM: those girls who grew up with MLP were still served by FiM even if they disliked the new audience.
Conversely, MegaTen has entirely separate audiences that hate each other. SMT fans don't whine about trivialities like Dexit or Exp. Share, and expect Persona to correct course. It's not uncommon to find people who feel that P3-5 games should not have ever been made in the first place and are entirely alienated from them. It's not 'Persona lost its way'. It's 'Persona is a creepy dating sim perversion of the games I like and don't you dare call it SMT'.
