-barely a step up from the old system and has even worse mechanics and oversimplifies any semblance of stretegy in favor of abusing fast attacks while punishing you for using stronger ones.

I genuinely cannot figure out how this works. How is an enemy pokemkn able to just right in and hit you after you've fainted its teammate. Does turn order not reset? And even if it doesn't, if I have a 2x turn order, how am I still getting hit on the switch if I've only used one turn?

None of this makes any sense.

another anon also defended it by saying something like

i read over the tutorials multiple times and it never mentions anything about losing moves like that

The game has a rubber hand system that makes the next pokemon receive a massive speed boost after suffering a KO. You get the same bonus too, turning battles into a literally rock paper scissors shitfeast that you will always win because 99% of the NPCs in this game refuse to use 6 pokemons, meaning that you'll always get to abuse the rubberband mechanic more times than the opponent

if using agile move gives you a turn, do it
if using strong move does not penalize you immediately, do it
if you want to make sure the next move is KO, use strong move

The system gets old super fast.

There is an invisible combat turn meter, whenever a mon faints the mon that is coming in starts at 100 meter (gets to move instantly). It's stupid and a bandaid for the fact that without it you could not beat alphas with underleveled mons.

Maybe the punch hurts like taking a bullet, or does comparable damage to one. Bullet ants are hella slow, for example.
