PLA just has the balms with a limited arc and a crappy dodge-roll that can sometimes have such a slow animation, getting knocked down can result in a stun-lock.
The vision is there but the execution is lacking. I would've liked to utilize my Pokemon in a real-time fight like they were an God of War Atreus-type assist. Multiple items other than just spamming arcing balms would've been nice, too. Maybe something like status effect items; a sticky or ice-y projectile that would cause the Noble's attack animation to slow down-- or a mine-esque item that causes disorientation when stepped on so the Noble goes wild instead of locking on.
Two mechanics total does not a Dark Souls fight make.
