I'm just wondering if it's them convincing the big ties that it was a good idea to make this game or if the sales weren't as good as they hoped for for the last few gens and felt the need to invest in something new (though not too much, clearly PLA had low budget and gen 9 is still in the making after all)

it's all a matter of whether or not they believe they can make more money by investing more in the PLA formula now, rather than in the mainline games
