Is it just me or is this guy smarter than most trainers in Pokemon games?
He always sends out the Pokemon most effective against mine and then insta kills it
This is the first time I've felt challenged in a Pokemon game since the original DP

Some trainers in previous games have sent out their most effective pokemon when given the chance, and even switched without being prompted to by their mon being KOd, but both are rare, and this game's turn system allows him to capitalize on that bare minimum intelligence better than previous trainers with a similar level of AI.

I'm sorry was he supposed to be hard? Being able to craft Full restores and Max Revives made defeating him pretty trivial. I beat him using only Palkia and Dialga at about level 75 with only Palkia being downed once

Gen 2 trainers actually send out their strongest mon before weaker mons if you’re overleveled. I don’t know why they stopped doing this
