using gyarados for shiny genes gives 1/128 odds, an egg takes average 5 minutes to generate, the hatching process can be 2-3 times longer than obtaining the egg itself, you'll be lucky if you can manage to hatch 10 eggs an hour in GSC, i don't think it's the hardest method available but a pitching a 12-15 hour hunt as "easy" is definitely selling it short.
