There are 2 methods (i should have put this in OP but here we go again)
4 check method
>go out to outbreak zone
>save at the camp
>go to the outbreak
>visually check first 4
>no shiny=fast travel back to camp and jubilife
>go back out to outbreak zone
>save at camp
>check 4 again
>repeat, only reload game when the outbreak disappears or changes

and 12 check method
>go out to outbreak zone
>save at the camp
>go to the outbreak
>clear the outbreak mons until there are 3 left, enough to check all spawns to see if any are shiny
>no shiny=close game
>load game back into the camp
>go back to jubilife
>back out to the outbreak zone
>save at the camp
>repeat
>again if at any point the outbreak disappears you can also reload the game

**key note: there can only be one "active" Alpha in an outbreak at a time, so clear the alpha in an outbreak that has a shiny in it, this will reveal if the shiny is actually an Alpha as well and you dont want to miss that

I just found my first one after 46 hours of play, and it ended up killing itself after a flurry of ultra balls, low health, and status conditions. I'm so pissed. They need to patch out the glitch, or raise its appearance rates significantly.

its better to hunt the alpha spawn point with full research on the mon than it is to hunt an outbreak for a shiny alpha
i dont have my glasses on and i cant do math but the rate for alpha isnt clear so ive seen between 1-2%
assuming 1/100 chance, then 1/128 chance for shiny (with charm and full research) youre looking at a best case scenario of 1/12800
full research no shiny charm is 1/1024 with charm 1/585
im not a mathemagician but id say reset the static alphas

Pretty sure if they spawn without catching it's very rare. I swear I had one I hadn't caught once, but all the examples I keep thinking of the outbreak did pop after I grabbed a random alpha or something.

Mostly, but CTB combined with everything hitting hard from level 1 means you'll run into some challenges until you find your strat that works. On the flipside, very few battles are mandatory and learning when to run away to regroup saves a lot of the retard deaths /vp/ bitches about.

It would work, but the plate still prioritizes the weakness that would be the most effective. And if your target has multiple efficient weaknesses, the game will change Arceus at random between them.

You would be correct, the only time you need an actual team is for the last battle, the majority of trainers only have one pokemon.
I barely got to use my pokemon at all, they're more like collectables than a team.

dude shinies are piss easy to get here, since the ratio is still 1/4k and the game generates a shitton of pokemon per area you're more thn likely to find at least 1 before finishing the main story
hell I got 2 shiny Shinx nearly back to back during the tutorial in the fieldlands then a shiny scyther shortly after when I dismissed the first boss mission and did a quick detour through the map
currently I have 7 shinies (8 with the free shiny ponyta), don't give up anon I believe in you!

Exchange shop next to the dojo. Collect lost bags for points and get any evo item. Or defeating/capturing specific mon can sometimes drop the specific evo item for that line.

You can save where you are, reset and once you reload, it'll replay after a few seconds when it spawns in so you can retry to look for it.

Not at all, at least for me.
I hit rank 10 before I even got to the Icelands.
I did grind up from 9 to 10 by going through and spamming early stuff like strong/agile or things like beating Golbat with ice moves.
Not sure if there's a bonus for holding off on giving him your research but I went for hours without turning it in once and went from 3 to 7 after talking to him.

The game recalculates speed whenever a new pokemon comes out, and the new pokemon gets a first turn bonus. If the difference is big enough you still go first, but the bonus is bigger than what moves give.
At least I think it works like that. I don't think its been datamined yet, but that seems consistent with my experience.

I'm at the postgame stage of getting my last few mons to finish the dex (~30 left). 1'10 I believed, 1'06 seems ridiculous when getting the 1'10-1'11 roll is already rare enough.
Maybe it was datamined but there's some additional factor not accounted for to bring it up to the actual in-game sizes, until I see an actual cart-caught mon at these minimums I don't believe it for a second.

Another coincidence, that's another Pokemon out of the three singular Pokemon I've managed to get its smallest size according to the old list together with Zoroark and Lucario, and it again was extremely difficult to find. I would absolutely kill for a Sneasler that size, but maybe these super low numbers are just gonna be distributed through dlc or some shit later down the line and are not actually accessible right now.

Nope, works just fine for me a I restarted the game to get the update as soon as it was available.
Since then, I've even had two shiny Finneon alongside two alpha Finneon in the same outbreak, along with my chain of Paras not breaking a dozen-ish times until I chose to break it.

Only if it's got Shuckle-tier Attack and Special Attack with everything in speed.
Make it faster than Regieleki but with nothing to do with it, especially in PLA.

i have not sold a single item my entire playthrough because I worry about this.
I have 12 comet shards, 21 star pieces, 25 nuggets and 118 stardust, but i cant sell them just in case

When you farm an outbreak for shinies does it also reroll the odds of any pokemon in it spawning as alphas? I've reset 14 times so far on this outbreak and havent seen a single alpha, just want to make sure i havent messed the trick up somehow.

Yes alphas are just rare too almost as rare as outbreak shiny

please help me think of pokemon to give my team a sentai vibe. I want a team that fulfills these reqs

>Mostly 1 color each
>No repeating primary colors

soft reqs are

>no repeating types if possible
>mostly bipedal
>one BIG guy
>one little guy
>please no shiny suggestions I only have shiny bronzong

Right now what I have is
Red type: Scizor
Blue type: Toxicroak
Purple? type: Drapion
Yellow? type: Decidueye

was thinking about swapping Toxicroak out for a different blue type but I'm not sure what. Also Decidueye because most green types are grass. also considering going for more of a rainbow look with my trainer wearing the 7th color. any suggestions welcome, this'll take me too long to figure out on my own.

I'm having trouble with the volo battle and giratina assraping me, my team:
- Samurott
- Dialga
- Palkia
- Heatran
- Mesprit (definitely the worst one on the team and I wouldn't mind changing for anything else)
