why are PLA "fans" like that? I don't think PLA is even neccasarily better, just different. It sacrificed a lot of JRPG elements and mutiplayer for essentially an early access game

Pokemon hasn't been a JRPG since Gen 6.

because it's mostly true, the series has a phenomenal concept and monster designs along with potentially great gameplay but always squanders it with the most basic, low effort execution imaginable
the GS games have shown what you can do to make battling interesting and PvP/competitive shows the extreme depth the games can have, but we still just get press A to sweep gym/E4 with supereffective moves over and over
