No “generations,” just the same core set of 151 pokemon from game to game in the same vein as to how Mario has largely just kept the same goombas and koopas from game to game.
Maybe once in a while they would’ve added a few new pokemon, but not as sets of generations but rather as quiet additions like how boos became a staple from SMB3 onward.
