Given what they said about 3 "making clear the connections between 1 and 2" I expect it'll probably be the last game. Not to say Monolith Soft won't start some new series after that, but still.

I think there's still enough story potential. The series already has 4 alternate realities, they can always make another through whatever the XC3 protags end up doing in the story

Its quite telling that the main thing people talk about anymore in regards to Pokemon is the graphics. PLA succeeded mechanically and thematically.
