Why is no one walking about Legends anymore outside of Pokémon forums? Did the Nintendo Direct kill it that hard? Was it really that empty? What went wrong?

Pokemon Day is about a couple of weeks away and people are already anticipating a new game or DLC.
Everyone who cares about PLA already bought it and played it to their satisfactory point, they got what they wanted out of the product, but now they're waiting for the next one so the consoom cycle can continue.

no fag. That's not because we are getting two DLC, which firstly we aren't, that we get next game in 2024.
I accepted Gen 9 might be in 2023 if the PLA DLC is packed enough with content, but 2024 for next game is a straight-up no

After the shiny new seamless world battles and throwing mechanics wear off the game is honestly kind of boring
After I finished the boss battle against Palkia I checked my starter's dex page and realized it still wasn't filled in, because the requirements involved seeing it use styles and certain moves but I hardly ever bothered battling anyway because overworld catching is so much easier and heavily incentivized. I had a Samurott at level 63 that had hardly battled more than 11 times
