I flew into the area to catch cresselia without talking to the Warden.

I would have been locked out of a plate if it auto saved. Be careful there.

Just asking here since I've not got much else places to ask. How much farther in are some of the 'mons I've got planned to have on my team? I'm aware that Zoroark is like really late into the game but I don't know much about the others. For reference, currently getting ready to fight Noble Kleavor.

Yanma easily in second area
basculin is in third
qwilfish is in first but I believe you need at least the surf analogue (from third area storyline) to get it
Porygon is in distortions and I don’t know if that’s random or if specific maps’ distortions spawn specific dudes
depending on play style you’ll get a lot of playtime with most of your bros. Porygon might be a hard one.

I've gotten some almost every day I played before that, especially as I got stuff to level 10.

I haven't done anything different and have been looking and going around the maps as much as possible

I've also never gotten a single shiny from an outbreak

not that anon but saving at camp prevents something from fucking up your chain and rendering it null a few resets down the line. I dunno how necessary it is for Zoroark because they're naturally aggressive, but for mons like the starters and Basculin it's near mandatory because if a single one notices you and starts to run away it's shunted from the spawn pool for future visits.

on the contrary, killing one will remove it from the spawn pool for good. If you're only checking the first 4, just leave them be after confirming none are shiny. If you're checking all 10-12 spawns, then you need to defeat them all and THEN reset after no shiny, so you don't lost the outbreak.

Up to 10-12 will spawn during an outbreak, it's just that you don't see any past the first 4 if you don't catch/knock them out. They all have the increased shiny odds, so some people will clear them out until they're all gone and then reset.
If you're killing one, leaving, and coming back, you're removing a potential spawn. For example, if the original outbreak had 12 mons ( 8 that'd show up after the first 4 are KO'd), it'd only have 11 next (7 show up after the first 4 are KO'd).

I've actually perfected MAgikarp's entry. IT's easy if you need to do Sword Dance or other non damaging move for another entry. Find a fish, it can only splash, two birds with one stone.

Is anyone still playing through the main game? There's a cool statue of Noble Electrode at Mount Coronet right before the Dialga/Palkia encounters but it gets permanently destroyed afterwards. As far as I know it's the only way to see the gimmick behind the design which is stupid.

Anyone figure out how the legend plate works? Most sites mention it will choose the most super effective type, while also factoring in resistances and immunities of the opponent's type. For the most part it seems to follow that rule, but I also saw that it picked dragon against palkia when the most optimal type should have been fairy.

What's the best way to hunt a night-only spawn outside of outbreaks? I'm trying to get a shiny Drifloon, with Perfect odds (no charm). I know that the mons are predetermined once entering the map, so is it better to save at Jubilife, sweep the map, and reset, or would sweep the map then sleeping to night be better? I might be overthinking this, but I'm concerned that when the night spawns get swapped with day spawns, they're 'stored' and respawn (possibly shuffled) unless cleared out via battle/catching. I don't want to sleep at camp and sweep the map only to be checking the same spawns I checked when I first started, only recycled.

Low res textures wouldn't look so bad, the main issue with them is that some are outright bad. The guys making the texture mods released versions that can run on a Switch as well. But this game could run even on a potato if it wasn't on gamefreak's hands, just look at BotW, and that was released on a console weaker than the Switch.

So I'm just outside the arena where you fight DELELELEWOOOOOP, and there's a dirty great alpha Parasect nearby, however even when throwing a Berry at it, its catch meter goes yellow for literally like one frame then immediately red again. Can I just not catch it until a later point in the game? Catching it in battle is a no go either, i can get its health down okay but it just jumps right out of any ball I throw.

I have a theory about him. First, we know he used to live in another region, in a village that was destroyed by fire caused by one Pokemon.
Could it be Tapu Village? It was destroyed by Tapu Bulu, a fire type mon.
Then, there is an explanation as why he is so afraid of Pokemon and is ready to fight whatever is the great Sinnoh. On his desk, we can see his wedding picture with his wife. But we know that him and Beni are the only survivors of their hometown. He may have lost his wife in this fire and is traumatized.

What I've been doing, but it's pretty fucking lame.
Go to the zone you want, set a timer 5 minutes, after 5 minutes have passed, check map, if it hasn't spawn, wait another 5, check every 5 minutes for 15 minutes, still no spawn, to jubilife and back, rinse and repeat.
You need to have something else to do on the side while you wait, doing anything like battling/catching Pokemon, just playing the game seems to fuck with it spawning. It feels like it rolls whether it spawns every 5 minutes, and it feels like it's a 50-50. I don't know the data.

That said could someone please tell me if Alpha fossil mon are possible? I have not seen 1 image of someone finding them. I've done about 30+ space-time distortions, completing the Pokedex, but have not seen any of the static spawns (Hisui starters, fossils, etc) spawn as alpha.

Any idea on how to defeat a Togetic? I saw a gamefaqs talking about how you have to throw a ball containing a flying pokemon onto one of the two that are flying around, but after many attempts I don't think it goes that far.

P.S.- the type of ball thrown doesn't matter if it contains a pokemon; Heavy and Wing balls are thrown the same distance as a normal pokeball

Shiny spawns and hordes (and all other spawns I believe) are reset when you return to Jubilife, but the chances of a horde staying in an area when the spawns are reset is pretty high, so you can save in the zone, check the horde spawns, reset the game, go back to Jubilife to reset the spawns, then return to the zone and repeat. If the horde ever vanishes when you return to Jubilife you can just reset until it doesn't.

The latest info on outbreak shiny hunting is pretty odd too. Apparently it’s best to *kill* (not catch) 5 mons and reset if no shiny as usual. eceleb doesn’t make it exactly clear why it’s like this but there’s lots of success in the comments of people getting shinies even faster than before

And the new information on STDs

That was really common with gen wun pokemon since their shinies were designed for g/s/c, a game in which it was rare to ever catch the normal variant let alone a shiny. So with EV training via Grit items, is it possible to have every stat on a Pokemon be max EV? So like level 10 or whatever across all six stats. Kinda like old school Pokemon if I'm not mistaken.
That'd seriously be super cool. Now all you have to worry about is nature. No more dealing with IVs or making sure your EVs are spread a super specific way.

They might be in ore deposits only from certain areas that are locked behind progression (like needing climbing) MAYBE
best way to get them early game is to wait out a time distortion

How many pokemon are in each area? Like for me the Obsidian Fieldlands is at 71/62 (with 47 mons at Research Level 10) and I want to just finish it up before I make my way over to the Mirelands and so on

According to the dex:
Obsidian Fieldlands: 85
Crimson Mirelands: 75
Cobalt Coastlands: 96
Coronet Highlands: 90
Alabastar Icelands: 91

These numbers overlap quite a bit though. I think you can theoretically get to 83 before moving on from Obsidian, but that includes all the eeveelutions which can be found in distortions, but would be a pain in the ass to wait for due to slowness and RNG. Also not sure if you can get Black Augurite to evolve a Scyther before leaving the area.
