Phanpy and Tediursa
They were already version exclusives so it makes splitting up gold and silver content easy. Phanpy will get a speed boost and be a glass cannon like Pikachu was. It’s tutor coverage moves will focus on adding entry hazards. Tediursa will get an across the board boost to be defensive oriented. Tutor moves will be focused on status ailments and self preservation

Murkrow and Misdreavus are two spooky counterparts (whenever one is in one version, the other is in the other) that each got an evolution in gen 4.
Snubbull and Houndour are stage 1 dogmon.
Chinchou and Remoraid are stage 1 fishmon.

We’ll get a let’s go story sequel but it won’t be called let’s go and won’t have the go catching feature. You’ll be able to choose the Johto starters but still potentially catch them in the wild. The cover legendaries will be Entei and Raikou.

i mean i see your point but when it was for the mainline games in the first place they may as well just shit out more mainline games. also, besides red, bill, the kanto gym leaders and koga/bruno/lance the generic npcs, what assets would be reused?
