>>49612798I used to watch Pokemon Youtube, but I've largely avoided it ever since SwSh came out. Seemed like fans had all become jaded with the series. Lots of videos dissecting the decline of the franchise, doomposting about why everything is bad now. And the lack of meaningful content in the games themselves led to endless sea of shiny hunting, challenge runs and the usual Wi-Fi Battles.
I have just a few guys that I typically watch. FSG is fun to listen to since I'm not super competitive, and he's kind of like a historian. Lockstin is the loremaster, puts a-lot of work into understanding the real world influences of the series which is interesting to learn about. Alecxander isn't a Pokemon Youtuber, but his videos on Gen 3 and 4 were probably some of the best discussion of those games that I've heard. At least on the Youtube platform. He does video essays about movies, games, anime, etc. that he's into, so he's able to talk about the series more on a narrative level where most people won't.
