When either dilated to 4 ish cm (must get to 10 btw) is when you can do an epidural however an epidural can also be administered earlier if you have to encourage dilation with pitocin (pitocin contractions feel like you’re being ripped in half)
So yeah there’s still time between having baby and first getting drugged and you can still do stuff while drugged it’s just the lower half of your body that doesn’t feel shit
