>>49618191>doesn't understand why Dexit is such a huge problem or just doesn't care>dislikes PLA>refuses to play spinoff games on principleDunno, sounds kinda autistic to me. Been with the series since Yellow and I've never found it absolutely crucial to play spinoffs (but I have anyways). PLA, while incredible, might just not be what some fans look for in a Pokemon game since the gameplay is more action-oriented at times. Dexit I get though, I was there in the midst of the chaos when it first started and I'm still worried Game Freak is using it as an excuse to do less work and cut as many corners as possible.
For me, a "fake" Pokemon fan are just the dumb hipster normies that claim they love the series but don't talk about anything past gen 1 and jack off the first few seasons of the anime instead of ever talking about the games, especially when it comes to discussing any kind of canon. Quite frankly, I don't care if they can't name every single Pokemon and what generation they're from but they should at least be able to identify what is and isn't a Pokemon if shown a picture of one. Pokemon Go caused a neo-Pokemania that made people care about the series again but only while it was "in", just like the Pokemania in the 90s. It isn't about the fact they like the franchise, they just like their childhood and following trends.
It doesn't even matter to me if someone is a "fake" Pokemon fan or not. It's not like I keep up with Sonic even though I played Sonic Adventure a lot when I was a kid, but I generally still like Sonic. It's the same way for people who played Pokemon as a kid, there's nothing wrong with that. It's only annoying when you're trying to have a discussion and they insert themselves into it despite being uneducated and not playing a game past GSC if they even played the games. That just makes them look retarded.
