i can wait for gen 9 if that's the case, sw/sh is something i don't feel like getting into so late in its life span. i don't want my purchase to feel like a waste though, so how's the competitive team forming in bdsp? is it a faster process than Swsh? it'll feel nice being able to stockpile competitive shiny mons for when gen 9 comes around.

BDSP kinda sucks for team making, breeding is significantly slower than SWSH and there's no fast reliable way to get to level 100 for hyper training, among other things.

SM and XY had a elo ranking, just not the pokeball tiers

I bought BDSP on an impulse to get Darkrai for Legends Arceus since I'm autistically perfecting every single pokedex entry since it'd feel empty without Darkrai. Also, the shiny hunting and mechanics for making competitive pokemon looked pretty fun.
