Having a Pokemon get a whole new evolution and letting them hold eviolite is a lot more interesting than just having said Pokemon get a variant who for some reason sometimes gets an evolution while the original one doesn't and is left to collect dust. Besides most regional variants are just "this pokemon except with a different color palette", fuck that. Give me Porygon3, give me a grass/ghost Parasect evo where the mushroom grows out of control and fucking kills its host, give me a Dodrio evo with even more heads who's basically an hydra, give me a Dunsparce evo that's incredibly convoluted to get but ends up with pseudo-legendary stats, give me two Girafarig evos where either its tail takes control or the head keeps it. Anything but "Avalugg but with rocks lmao"
