For a portion of my inclement emerald playthrough I had two pure electric types, a Pachirisu and a Manectric. Pachirisu with fur coat was a defensive wall and I used Manectric a variety of things depending on the situation, his moves were swapped around a lot. I ended up swapping out the Manectric for a shiny Gengar I found later on.
I've done it at least one or two more times in older runs but I can't remember the specifics
