No it’s not, it’s meant to be a prequel. Just because it has a character from the future doesn’t mean anything but the fact that they get to experience the events that led to the present day world being the way it is.

It's both. It's a prequel which sets up the events of DP, while having a protag from a universe where they'd stopped cyrus' plan in the modern era. making it a sequel to that.
