I hate the chalky colors, it looks like toys. that and showing the trees around the city also makes it feel small. also in other towns they use too much grass, which works for hoenn but not kanto imo.

Kanto routes have always been shit. RBY and GSC are obviously understandable (they needed Satoru Iwata's help to make compression tools for GSC), but they should've expanded on Kanto in FRLG and HGSS, or by LGPE at the very least. But GameFreak is lazy and loves catering to nostalgiafags, so it's a win win. GameFreak can shit out a game quickly and nostalgiafags will lap it up.
