People outside of the fanbase didn't give a shit about Alain's anime, or Generations or even Origins. They could announce a new anime, but it would be a sideshow to a main series game, because those games, like it or not, are the core of the whole franchise. Anime, merch, manga, music, spin offs, all of it needs the conveyer belt that is GF to keep churning out their hollow pseudo-RPGs in order to keep the franchise printing money.
