>>49773871The GameCube duology was well received to my knowledge. Keeping them bound solely to their original console is a shame. Players would happily purchase direct ports of them if they were available. Despite playing both, I cannot remember very much of either.
Throughout the mainline series, the casts all offer a level of enjoyment on their own. Much like the Pokemon themselves, it is not hard to believe that every relevant Trainer has a fan in the world. Johto and Unova's human characters are swell, so it is understandable why you would enjoy them. BDSP's chibis were bad as they lacked style. Throughout the two major Gen VI games, XY and ORAS, the chibi models utilized in them were stylized. Not impressive, but cohesive at the very least. Meanwhile, BDSP's developers decided to use the exact same "squashed chibi" aesthetic many of the older games used. This was acceptable then, when everything was sprite based, but looks horrendous now with three dimensional models. Good God, think the only people out there that genuinely enjoyed those things were Game Freak's/Pokemon's/Nintendo's most sincere, diehard worshippers. Them, and literal children, who would likely never think twice about these matters because "zomg Pokemons", which is fair. "Artificial" is an apt way of putting things, I say. Not sure about the sales numbers of latest mainline releases, my apologies.
