Honestly, they don't look *that* bad. Even SWSH had good character models. All it needs is a little upscaling and fine-tuning, which (hopefully) should happen, given the jump from BDSP's first trailer to the final release.

Is it that hard to make something at least on par with games like BOTW?
BOTW has no great graphics compared to other games that still run on the switch shit hardware, but it still has decent and effective graphics for an open world game.
The team working on Zelda is 1000 times more competent than the team working on Pokemon, but since BOTW clones popped out like mushrooms after the rain, even by legit indie studios, there's no excuses for the DS graphics on a 2022 game.

A Zelda game has like a 3 times longer dev cycle than Pokémon game does. It's really sad, at this point I feel like they are really trying but they just have to supersize now, badly.

The graphics arent literally better, but compared to other games then it was pretty good. Also it took them 20 years of progress to get from Collosseum/XD to what we have now and the improvement is very low for what is a billion dollar company
