>>49768403Yeah I have no idea why Id keep playing this game. The trailer itself is entirely a visual trailer just showing off the "environment" and every game past SM clearly wanted a big feature of their game to be the aesthetic feeling of running around in their world and the particular look or style of the mons and NPCs...but it just looks like garbage to me, so if their games are now going to be made with looks and theme as a primary component, and I hate the developer's taste, why play?
The whole reason the old Pokemon games worked for me was the environment was enough of a blank slate in design to just mentally project the journey onto it, and the mons themselves felt cool enough to WANT to collect them for that reason. You caught and then bonded with a mon in the first place over it being appealing visually in some way. The series tastes have diverged enough from my own now that this just doesnt happen for enough mons, and the character models have become too realistically disgustingly child like and chibi, the environment both too detailed and too ugly, to project your own journey onto it. The excess of detail makes it impossible for your brain to wash it over with what you think it "represents". It tells you exactly what it is, and it sucks. Most of the stuff I liked in the old games isnt there anymore, the style of story, dialogue, mons, or world design. These games are for new players now, and not for me.
