5 definitely. Though my favorite set of starters is gen 3. I truly love all the hoenn starters, sinnoh starters are all great too, so both of those were tough choices my first play throughs

Yeah I have to agree.
Merits alone I like gen 5 quite a lot, but the fact it has a sequel probably elevates it to my top spot. Not sure why Game Freak hasn't done this since, actually makes "3rd" versions worth playing.

One more thing, I noticed a lot of you skipped the LA clans. I've never actually played LA (I don't have a Switch), so I just assumed you are forced to make a choice between the two clans at some point in the story. Is it possible to skip them? If so, I'll add an extra option for it.

you dont choose between clans, you stick with the galaxy team the whole time. the only choice you get is which leader you want to stick around with you for the main story ending, but both leaders still help you in that quest anyway.

Haven't really played through a regular Gen 1 or 3 game yet, and I'm currently going through Crystal.
Skipped BDSP because I knew from the second it was announced that it would be a dumpster fire.
Also didn't buy Sword but my brother, an omegashill, just had to buy the double pack even after telling him multiple times not to, which is the sole reason I included it.
Not sure what version I'm getting, if I'm even gonna get it.

Yeah, you have to choose a clan to work with during the main story's climax.
Ultimately it doesn't amount to anything, just what mascot gets in a special ball.

I have gone back and played the games pre-BW but that was when I started playing, and went mostly in order afterwards. I usually go for the "red" version so will probably play Scarlet.
