Thread is about Megas, not Z-moves and Dynamax. I disagree with OP since Legends proved that games don't necessarily need abilities/held items/megas to be good but keep gimmickshit out.

And as I said, Mega Evolutions were a shit gimmick used to pad out a game with hardly any actual new Pokemon. They were a stupid magical girl transformation largely based on pandering to nostalgia.
