Yes, but if i understood the statistics right Shinies are still more common overall because there are so fucking many outbreaks (with mass massive ones having somewhat better Shiny rate then normal ones to boot), it is just harder to "Aim" for specific ones since the mons inside specific outbreak are locked-in in Jubilife now which means you can't reset.

So basically Shinies are now even more common, but it won't necessarily be the Shiny you want because you can't redo the same outbreak over and over until you get it.

Massive have lower odds but since there are so many, it doesn't matter because you're almost guaranteed a shiny every three or four massive outbreaks.

Shiny hunting specific Pokémon has been gimped a bit but if you just want shiny dex filler then this is great.

Also you can still shiny hunt specific Pokémon, you just can't soft reset and it will probably take a bit longer that's it.

Since I don't autistically hunt one specific shiny and really enjoyed doing Alpha Loops around the map waiting for Distortions before, this is just gravy for me. Means I can farm outbreaks, wait for distortions, and also check static Alpha spawns, all in one neat package.

Money farming is also much easier, especially if you spam Jet Balls like I do, with the extra income from Alpha Outbreaks, and the occasional Infinite Dream Battle run for fun.

Oh, literally the only complaint I have is the Hisuan starters being available in outbreaks. I would have liked a few more things to keep distortions better, but at least we have the Porygon/Magnemite line I guess.

I'm assuming there will be a second free update until Gen 9 so I hope they do something with distortions. Not really sure what they can do to improve them with the current dex and items in the game though. Increasing shiny odds will just make the game even easier.

Yeah, realistically the only way they can improve distortions is in a dexadd with more out-of-time mons exclusive to them. Maybe it could be a place for a bunch of other formes of existing mons like A-Golem as well. While they're at it, if they can make the distortion timer tick down while you're in battle, i might consider perfecting the entire dex, since the major barrier to that is the move research tasks.

No, that's bullshit. Shinies are generated once you enter an area as always. If you find one and save and reset it will still be there.

Pretty okay free update, didn't get sinjoh DLC like I wanted but adding a battle facility is fine and unlike SWSH I don't have much issue with PLA content wise. Just wonder if there is a second update to go along with the darkrai event like everyone thinks what would they even add aside from home support if it was free
