All of these are trash. Dodging did nothing, fall damage is a massive pain in the ass on GF's lazy environments, and Let's Go Arceus was fucking boring and braindead without having to battle anything ever.

I sincerely felt most sense of exploration and adventure in PLA (and arguably Crown Toundra) that I ever did since Gen 4, maybe 5. It's true there's little to no dungeons and I wish there were more places like Snowpoint Temple or the Crown Toundra caves, but SM and vanilla SwSh didn't have dungeons either, while being linear as fuck

You can make a pretty linear game with an open world, think of DQ11 or Xenoblade. This time they branded the game open world from the start, which is a sign it's going to retain at least the freedom of movement, even if stuff like dodging or fall damage will be most likely absent

Also it's an starter area, which could be treated like a city/town. It's perfectly reasonable to expect towns and even dungeons to be more linear or roadblocked, not allowing rides, etc, while keeping PLA level of freedom in outside enviroments.

Yes its depth. Especially against stronger pokemon when you have to micro manage the attacks/damage you are taking vs trying to catch the pokemon. PLA is literally just walk up and press a button by comparison. its shallow.

PLA alphas, and hell even regular mooks on the other hand OHKO your mons on a regular basis, with alphas starting off with an omni boost and usually getting 2 turns right off the bat if you don't backstrike them

the same applies for PLA, you can't snipe the genies you retard. the difference is while the genies can kill you and make you work for their battle screen, the galarian birds just fuck around in the otherworld or have braindead puzzles associated with them. you're praising swsh birds here despite them being a literal betatest of pla genies

I started to think that this confirms it will not be like PLA.
SV protagonist look younger and less atheltic than the PLA protagonist, so the player wont be able to put them in danger and they wont be attacked by pokemons.
At best, they will have jumps or other moves that will allow them to cross certain terrain obstacles, but fences or invisible walls will stop them to cross great gaps and cliffs, so it wont have fall damage. Also pokemon in the overworld will only run away or ignore the player, and if they attack, they will only trigger a pokemon battle.
They released PLA recently and it will get DLCs and updates, so it have sense to make the games different enough from each other so people will buy both, as they wont be the same game.
