Nearly any level of graphical fidelity can look great as long as it's consistent and the art style is nice, but it doesn't matter how amazing one thing is if it's not consistent. The switch is horrendously underpowered and low res by today's standards, so obviously it can't handle making EVERYTHING look as nice as the backpack all the time and maintain a playable frame rate, but if they dialed that back about 20% and brought the foreground environment assets up to match with a smoother transition to the lower LODs in the background then it'd look much better overall while running about the same.
